In the winter, you are a short drive from Northstar California Resort, known for its world-class skiing and vibrant village. Summer months invite you to explore the nearby hiking and biking trails or spend a day on the crystal-clear waters of Lake Tahoe or Donner Lake. The area is a haven for foodies and shoppers alike, with downtown Truckee offering a charming collection of historic buildings, boutique shops, and gourmet restaurants. Whether you are seeking high-octane adventure or a quiet stroll through the pines, this neighborhood provides an authentic mountain experience.
A car is highly recommended to fully enjoy the Truckee and North Lake Tahoe area, as public transportation can be limited. The property is located near a free shuttle line that services parts of the region. On-site parking is available for 3 vehicles between the garage and the driveway; please note that street parking is strictly prohibited.
Guests will have access to the entire side of the duplex, including the second-floor patio. All amenities, including the in-unit laundry, gas grill, and fire pit, are private for guest use.
Please keep in mind that if you plan to ski, you are responsible for verifying the ski resorts’ opening and closing dates. 4-wheel drive or 2-wheel drive tires with snow chains may be necessary for safe travel to this property, even if it hasn’t snowed in a few days.

We had a really great stay at this place in Schaffer’s Mill and would definitely come back. The layout worked super well for us. The house itself just feels good to be in. It’s modern and nicely designed, but still really comfortable and easy to relax in. The kitchen was a highlight—open, clean, and a great spot to hang out whether you’re cooking or just spending time together. Coffee bar was also a hit. Schaffer’s Mill is a quiet, really nice gated neighborhood, and you’re just a quick drive to Truckee and North Lake Tahoe. Made everything super convenient. Overall, awesome spot if you’re looking for a clean, well-designed place near Lake Tahoe. Would recommend it to anyone who’s wanting a quiet luxury spot. Would definitely visit again this year.

We had an awesome stay at this place in Schaffer’s Mill near Lake Tahoe. The house was even better than expected—super clean, beautifully designed, and just felt like home the moment we walked in. It’s a great setup, especially for groups or families. The four bedrooms were perfect, and the bunk room was a huge hit—especially if you have kids. Plenty of space for everyone to spread out and relax. The kitchen was one of our favorite parts—modern, spacious, and really well stocked. You can tell a lot of thought went into the design of the home. Everything felt high-end but still comfortable and livable. Location is also a big plus. Schaffer’s Mill is a really nice, quiet community, and you’re just a short drive to Truckee, North Lake Tahoe, hiking, restaurants, and skiing. Overall, this is one of the best Airbnb stays we’ve had in the Tahoe area. Would 100% stay here again and highly recommend it if you’re looking for a clean, modern, and comfortable place

The place was very clean and beautiful and in a nice gated community. It has enough bedrooms, with big attached bathrooms for all bedrooms. For kids had a separate room with 4 bunk beds.
