Our property is situated in Alma, the highest incorporated town in the United States. This exclusive enclave offers a peaceful, high-altitude atmosphere characterized by dramatic 180-degree views of the surrounding peaks and the valley below. The area is a playground for outdoor enthusiasts. In the summer, you are minutes from world-class hiking at the Kite Lake Trailhead—access point for several of Colorado’s "14ers"—and serene fishing at Montgomery Reservoir. Just a short drive south lies Fairplay, known for its rich mining history and "South Park" heritage, offering local dining and boutique shopping.
Due to the estate's private mountain location, a vehicle is necessary for travel. We highly recommend a 4-wheel drive vehicle to comfortably navigate the scenic mountain roads and the property’s expansive gravel driveway, particularly during the winter season.
Our property offers an exclusive and private estate experience, granting you full access to both the 6,000 sq. ft. main residence and the detached guest house. Your arrival is marked by a sprawling gravel roundabout designed for effortless transitions, providing ample space for up to 10 vehicles across the driveway, garage, and covered parking areas. To preserve the architectural integrity and artisan craftsmanship of the hand-carved front entrance, guests are invited to enter through the private mudroom entrance located conveniently adjacent to the garage.
Please keep in mind that if you plan to ski, you are responsible for verifying the ski resorts’ opening and closing dates. Please note that like most homes in the area, this home does not have A/C. 4-wheel drive or 2-wheel drive tires with snow chains may be necessary for safe travel to this property, even if it hasn’t snowed in a few days. Please note this property sits at a high elevation. Please note that the hot tub may be serviced between stays and may need time to get up to proper temperature.

Great Property! It looked better in person than in the photos. Very clean, and very spacious. Beautiful mountain views. It does sit at +10,000ft elevation and our flatland group of 9 found out that elevation sickness is a thing. Other than that, the house and property were great. Looking forward to booking again next year.

We had a wonderful stay and would absolutely give this home 5 stars. You can tell the owners created it with real care and attention to detail. The log cabin atmosphere makes you feel completely away from the city and surrounded by nature. The mountain and forest views are incredible. Sitting outside with coffee and enjoying the scenery was one of the best parts of our stay. The house has everything you need, including a hot tub, grill, a large game room, and plenty of comfortable space to relax. It is honestly one of the best vacation homes we have stayed in. Our only small suggestion is about the mattress topper in the smaller basement bedroom. It made the bed very soft, and we kept rolling toward the middle. We personally prefer a firmer mattress, so this may simply be our preference. Overall, this is a beautiful, peaceful, and thoughtfully designed home. We would gladly stay here again and highly recommend it.

Wow! Such a beautiful home that was perfect for our family. Magnificent views, comfy beds, and a hot tub that made us want to cancel our trip home. We loved the clubhouse and game room. The kitchen was well appointed and having the downstairs act as a separate suite made it easy for us to spread out and be comfortable. It’s evident that the homeowners have put a lot of thought and care to make their home as welcoming as possible to their guests. Hosts were helpful and responsive and check-in was no problem. We’ll be back for sure.
