Carnelian Bay is a charming lakeside town with easy access to Lake Tahoe’s beaches, hiking trails, and ski resorts. Enjoy boating, paddleboarding, and fishing in the summer, or head to nearby Northstar or Palisades Tahoe for winter skiing. Local dining and shopping options in Tahoe City and Kings Beach are just minutes away.
A car is recommended for exploring the area. Nearby Tahoe City offers dining and shopping, while ski resorts and outdoor attractions are easily accessible within a short drive.
Guests have full access to the home, including the deck and balcony. Parking is available in the driveway for up to 4 vehicles.
Please keep in mind that if you plan to ski, you are responsible for verifying the ski resorts' opening and closing dates. Please note that like most homes in the area, this home does not have A/C. Please also be aware that the primary heat source of this home is the fireplace. 4-wheel drive or 2-wheel drive tires with snow chains may be necessary for safe travel to this property, even if it hasn’t snowed in a few days.

I will absolutely be coming back to this home for my family’s annual trips! Not only did the host address a concern I had, they took the time to review their security and keep me updated throughout the day. I have 2 toddlers and they were committed to making sure we felt comfortable and safe. The home was beautiful, had a modern kitchen, amazing rooms with comfortable beds and a breathtaking view in the living room. It’s was made to come together as a family and unwind from the city. I always come out to Tahoe every year for my birthday, and this might just be the place we come to spend our time as a family for many years to come - love LocalVR and love this home! Thank you!!

Great spot to stay, lots of sunlight in the house, plenty of amenities, and a quick drive to the North Lake resorts. House comes stocked with everything you need for a weekend from spices to board games. Really enjoyed our stay here.

This isn’t our first winter trip to Lake Tahoe. We found this home to be comfortable, with the most spectacular view of the snowy scene, the horizon, the lake view from second floor. The whole experience of this meant to be peaceful trip was made possible by LocalVR. Unfortunately our expected snowy stay turned into a snow storm on the day that we set out to leave. We were prepared for the snow but not the snow storm. Our tire chains malfunctioned and couldn’t get our minivan up the steep driveway. The cleaning crew was patient with our attempt to vacate the home however they also got their pick-up truck stuck at the entrance of the driveway. LocalVR team was very helpful. They gave us recommendation including the local chain supply stores, however the size of the chains we needed was not available around. They communicated closely with us to find the best solution. Since all the highways were closed, they let us extend our stay another night at a hundred dollars less. Thank you 🙏

estuvimos muy cómodos. excelente vista paisajes y todo muy limpio. nos encantó y volveríamos. solo recomendaría persianas en las ventanas de sala y comedor. el sol está fuerte ahi. todo excelente.
